"Park View Project awarded a lifeline"
National Lottery Community Connectors Fund has saved the day in securing funds that are a scarce commodity in digital development projects. Awarded £9,609 towards engaging, enabling and empowering older and disabled people living in North Tyneside, the project will train volunteer Digital Befrienders to use technology to help beneficiaries to set up their digital devices remotely. Many older and disabled folk encounter frustration, confusion and disillusionment in the early stages of grappling with getting online if their efforts seem less than optimum. This can put many off before they even start the basic digital skills journey. We aim to address this early stage encounter and ensure those we exist to support are given both social and digital help to breakdown the barriers of exclusion and join our digital bubble.
