Tacking the Digital exclusion in North Tyneside

As society moves towards a digital era, many daily tasks now rely on internet access, posing challenges for older and disabled individuals who struggle to maintain their independence due to a lack of control. Our residents cite reasons such as inadequate skills, unfamiliar benefits, privacy concerns, and cyber activity as barriers to engaging in digital learning. For the elderly, the resistance to change, self-perception, and lack of confidence are key factors, while younger disabled individuals face issues like potential abuse, cyberbullying, and barriers to digital access. It is essential for all of us to work towards bridging the digital gap by participating in our Digital Drop-ins.
